Today the government has reported that the successful extradition of eight Americans from a Columbian guerilla camp. The survivors are: Marc Fledson, Jacob Alexander, Richard Hartly, Karie Ann von Esch, Patrick Handler, George Marx, Arron Smith and Michael Mc Phee. They arrived last night at Andrews Air Force base and were rushed into the local military hospital. They will be going through several different debriefings and will be reunited with the families as well. The eight have Karie Ann's parents Doctors Lucus and Sandra von Esch for their tireless two year effort to bring their daughter home. Karie Ann is a doctor as well however she was working in Columbia when she was kidnapped. After the von Esch's heard about Karie Ann's abduction, they went right into crisis mode. They called their local representatives, got their senators involved and even tried to go to Columbia themselves to get her release.
It wasn't until yesterday that the Columbian government gave the green light to the Marines to extradite the hostages from the encampment that was deep within the Premier Range of the Cariboo Mountains. From reports the Marines went in at dawn and using non-lethal force managed to get everyone. The Columbian military followed to arrest the guerilla soldiers and put them into custody. As for what will happen to the eight survivors isn't sure yet. However we wish them well and hope for the best in their future.

On today's segment of where are they now. We followed Karie Ann von Esch from D.C., to Boston. Seems that Ms. von Esch has moved to Boston to restart and recreate her life. She seems to be very elusive to our camera crew as well as other news organizations. It is reported that she might have an interview with either Oprah or Barbara Walters scheduled but neither are confirmed yet. It seems that many morning shows are also trying to get their hands on an interview with Ms. von Esch. The senator committee for Foreign Relations has asked her and the others she was with to testify on their treatment and the guerilla's conduct while they were captive. As for where she's going to live, what will she do. No one has confirmed that they have hired her or if she's applied anywhere. Due to most of her actions, it seems that she's still recovering and the government is helping her settle back into normal life. It seems that when she's settled in she'll be ready to go.

Theme Song
Glitter In The Air lyrics
Songwriters: Mann, Billy; Moore, Alecia;
Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?
Close your eyes and trust it, just trust it
Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face
And said I just don't care?
It's only half past the point of no return
The tip of the iceberg, the sun before the burn
The thunder before lightning, the breath before the phrase
Have you ever felt this way?
Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?
Your whole life waiting on the ring to prove you're not alone
Have you ever been touched so gently you had to cry?
Have you ever invited a stranger to come inside?
It's only half past the point of oblivion
The hourglass on the table, the walk before the run
The breath before the kiss and the fear before the flames
Have you ever felt this way?
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
There you are, sitting in the garden
Clutching my coffee, calling me sugar
You called me sugar
Have you ever wished for an endless night?
Lassoed the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight
Have you ever held your breath and asked yourself
Will it ever get better than tonight? Tonight
